Job DescriptionThe Human Resources team provides leadership in planning, integration, and implementation of human resources services and programs for all leaders and employees. HR serves as a strategic and trusted advisor, supports an inclusive dynamic culture and workforce, and pursues continuous improvement through knowledge, collaboration, and leadership.
This role performs administrative responsibilities related recruiting, onboarding, orientation, coordination with University Shared Services, and other human resources administrative duties to support an efficient and customer-focused HR unit. Demonstrate effective customer service, communication, organizational skills, confidentiality, integrity, and a commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive workforce is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate hiring process for full-time and part-time positions; providing guidance and support to hiring supervisors to ensure effective recruitment and hiring strategies occur in support of a positive candidate experience.
Develop or review job postings, recruiting plans, and advertisem*nts effectiveness,
Facilitate expedient and effective hiring practices including direct promote and exception to recruit processes,
Serve as the liaison with the Recruitment Center with job postings, candidate sourcing and eRecruit processes.
Manage the eRecruit and hiring process for the college; to include job postings, offers, offer letters, rejection letters, moving expense agreements, hiring incentives, etc.
Manage the preboarding and onboarding process for the college to ensure a positive experience for candidates and new hires.
Process HR transactions including hires, job changes, pay changes, earning distribution changes, leaves of absence, separations, etc. ensuring accuracy and compliance with policy and procedures.
Ensure all HR documents are uploaded into the appropriate eHR files in a timely manner and in accordance with university policy and procedures. .
Assist with FMLA and Leave for employees.
Assist managers with document preparations such as PCQ’s, job postings, extra compensation requests etc.
Assist with coordinating the hiring process of full time, part time, graduate students and adjuncts providing guidance and support to hiring supervisors.
Assist with processing of extra compensation payments to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Coordinate communicating funding changes to appropriate supervisors.
Process payroll; Coordinate, analyze, and process payroll transactions.
Minimum QualificationsA bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
Three years of HR experience; prior administrative related experience
Prior experience in PeopleSoft preferred
Familiarity with university systems and human resources policy and procedures preferred
Professional HR Certification - PHR, SHRM-CP, SCP or higher preferred or willing to obtain
Possesses conceptual knowledge of theories, practices and procedures within the HR discipline
Develops knowledge of systems to complete necessary work
Experience exhibiting effective organizational and communication skills, attention to detail and accuracy, and proficiency with Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and Excel.
Exhibit a high personal standard of excellence, be an effective team player, and demonstrate inclusivity, and civility and respect for all.
Operate with minimal guidance and be a self-directed learner who is flexible and adaptable to changing environments
Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as: $24.00 - $28.00/hourly
Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
