These ex-QVC hosts are at ShopNBC and they went there in this order!
- Katina Forte (is a host)
- David King (is a host)
- Paul Deasy (is a guest host Gem Insider show)
- Judy Crowell (sells her own line of products there, not a host)

Isn’t Bob Bowersox here now as well? thought he retired but I saw him one weekend on SNBC. He used to be on QVC but only did cooking with Bob for the most part.

As I recall, the many years ago when QVC and CVN merged, which was when I first saw QVC, Bob Bowersox was an original host. In the early days he hosted all kinds of shows. But since he had been a chef and had had his own restaurant, it was pretty natural that he end up doing a lot of cooking shows. But he definitely did lots of other things too.

Hi nicsgigi – Yes they are indeed still married :) I didn’t catch their infomercial on tv because my channels rarely leave QVC or HSN! They keep me amuse :) What was the informercial for?
P.S. Welcome to the forum and I’m glad you’re chatting with us now!

Thanks Michelle. The infomercial that I saw did not have Paul and I’m sorry to say that I don’t remember what Judy was selling. I was channel surfing and was really surprised to see her. I remember her from QVC when she married that jerk Jeff. He sure faded into the sunset. lol

Hi nicsgigi – The infomercial was THAT effective, huh? LOL!!! :)
I’ve heard of this infamous Jeff that Judy Crowell married before Paul. He was way before I watched the Q though. Was this Jeff any good at hosting?

Jeff Hewson was quite a character. He was OK as a host, but he did have his quirks. This was the early days of QVC and all the hosts were developing their talents. I so remember the time Jeff was on with Richard Simmons, obviously distressed. Richard was trying to get Jeff, in his impeccable suit and coiffed hair, to move around a little to Dancing with the Oldies. At one point Richard said something like “Come on Jeff! Break a sweat!” to which Jeff replied, with a look of horror on his face, “I DON’T sweat!!!” It was too funny. I always thought Jeff played on my team, if you get my drift. Of course back then I didn’t even play on that team!!!
But I really liked Judy. She was personable, always well informed, and fun to watch.

I think that Judy eventually ended up at HSN. I’ve never heard anything about Jeff. I think that Judy is married now to Paul Deasy, who was on QVC for a while, and then went to HSN. Since I watch QVC almost exclusively (I check in on HSN every now and then to see what’s up) most of my information about HSN people actually comes from this forum!!

I did a little digging and came up with this article, for those who would like more information.

Connie, I know you prefer the Q, but ya gotta check our HSN and SNBC more. I constantly switch between the Q and HSN, with a little SNBC sprinkled in for taste. It makes me a well rounded “Queen”. lol
Bowersox is on SNBC now. He is still the stoic personality he always was. Paul and Judy are indeed married and both on SNBC. Paul, the Gem Insider and Judy a fashion designer, similar to Pam McCoy. Paul’s second gem book, this one on Opals, comes out in a few months. While Paul does love his gems, he, in my humble opinion is no Jay King or Nicky Butler or especially Michael Valetutti. His “facts” are often wrong. I am constantly running back to my GIA books to check his “facts”. I’ve even written into SNBC.(I get the legally crafted disclaimer form letter back…if anything).
I have to admit, every time I have written the Q about anything, including a surprise trip to the station for my elderly “queen mother”, they always write a personal and quick response back. They Do know customer service!

I watch more HSN now than I ever did, so maybe in time I’ll be up with some of you. Two stations are enough for me for now; maybe I’ll get caught up on others as time goes by.
I really enjoy watching Jay King and Lee Sands present their jewelry. They are both very knowledgeable and personable, in completely different ways. I’ve only seen Nicky Butler a few times, but he’s a little tough to watch. But over the years I have learned to much about gemstones by watching QVC. I was a complete novice before I started watching gem shows. I even know what chatoyancy is!!! (I probably don’t know how to spell it though!!)
