Fantastic experience: I've been training with Marcus since February 2012. I never thought I would stick with it this long, but 9 months later, he has me going strong. I can't say enough about a trainer who can keep mixing it up and keeping it interesting while helping me achieve and surpass my goals.

Fantastic experience: This gym has all the equipment anyone needs. I stay mostly in the free weight section of the gym which is well stocked. The dumb bell weights go up to 150 lbs with three or four sets of the most popular weights i.e., 30 - 50. Unfortunately, supervision of the weight room is minimal and the weights get scattered and not placed properly after use, so it can be frustrating to look for a weight in the middle of a workout. Squat racks, leg presses and so on are plentiful. Again, supervision of the room would prevent the occasional muscle head from dropping the loaded Olympic bar and chipping the weights, which I notice from one lifter constantly. Floor padding is good and well maintained. The weight benches sometimes get a little raggedy before they're repaired, but equipment is maintained well. Lots of weight machines and treadmills with the latest gadgets, so that's a plus. For a short period of time the speaker system broadcast commercials which I found aggravating but that was stopped and now it's music only. The dressing rooms are clean. If you use a locker be sure and bring a lock. A thief cleaned some guys out the other day. This gym has a pool which I never use and an aerobics classroom. Honestly, this gym is a good one. Unpretentious with enough equipment to satisfy the most ardent workout enthusiast. Clean and maintained well.

Fantastic experience: First workout in training with Darren Frett was excellent. He’s very knowledgeable about his craft. Throughout the whole session he was concerned about my general physical health after each exercise. I have a bad back and he focused on my core the healing verses over exerting myself. I plan to continue training with this gentleman.

Fantastic experience: Zach at the front desk was super nice and helpful! Great location with some different machines that I'd been dying to try. It's a clean location too.

Fantastic experience: I think the cover picture is a bit over the top. I think it would tend to discourage people who would enjoy and benefit from going there. I thing the "Gold" in their name would benefit to a change to "Goals"

Fantastic experience: This location was not busy at all for "peak" hours. I was there at 6pm and left by 730pm. Very chill not all over crowded. Even though there is literally a Golds Gym in the parking lot of the hotel i stay at when in town, I will always go to this one moving forward! Clean, no ridiculous music. I recommend this location if you are wanting a great full workout after work and don't want to fight over bodies.

Fantastic experience: This is my favorite Golds in San Antonio. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. The gym is always clean and never packed of people, at learn in the mornings and mid afternoons. If it had a sauna it would be that much better but still ranks high in my book.

Fantastic experience: I did personal training with Andrea Janss from September through December. She put me through some amazing athlete work outs and it was so fun. I suffered a horrible back injury during April 2021. Andrea helped me build back my posterior core and now my new body feels amazing. Thank you so much Gold’s Gym for your excellent winning culture and thank you Andrea for your expertise! I’m looking forward to returning to my hockey team in January!

Fantastic experience: Has Everything you need really. A nice little HIIT area, free weights, resistance machines, cables, pool, and group class area. Just be aware there are personal trainers who can sometimes hog an area.

Fantastic experience: This is my favorite Gym, My first interaction with Tim the Assistant Manager at the time when I was getting my membership was phenomenal… Big shout out to Tim!!! He is very polite, respectful, compassionate, realistic and people focus which makes him perfect for the work he does, and excel at. I always enjoy my workout at this Gym, It’s always so clean and neat. It’s very refreshing to go to a Gym that’s taken care of so well. Great atmosphere, and overall great experience every time I go there…

Fantastic experience: Had a problem with freezing my account while out of the country and management cleared the $200+ mistakenly billed to me. Very happy with the way things went and can honestly vouch this is a trustworthy gym which seems to be a rare thing these days

Fantastic experience: This gym has been there for years, but is kept modern and immaculate. The staff is great. The pool is spacious and allows plenty of time for individual workouts. There is a solid variety of classes, a child care area, and access to personal trainers. My husband is post stroke recovery and is making progress with twice weekly half hour sessions. Damien is helping him achieve and surpass his expectations. This center is "senior saturated" and what you see is a solid respect across the generations for personal goals.

Fantastic experience: I've attended this gym since 2004. It has older equipment that hasn't seen a lot of proper maintenance, but what it's lacking in "beauty" or visual appeal, the equipment will help you achieve and surpass your goals. Pros: There are many redundancies in equipment type which is great during the gym rush hours. If someone is on a piece of equipment you need, there's usually another 2-3 options available for you. They have childcare in house for the busy parent(s) still looking to get some gym time in their schedule. The restrooms are well maintained and cleaned. The staff here are great and treat you like family. Cons: As mentioned in the intro, the equipment is old, so if you're wanting shiny machines to sit on while updating your social media...this is not the place for you. The equipment could use a little TLC (i.e. polish off rust, spray some WD-40 on equipment, etc.). There are a lot homeless people in the area which may make it uncomfortable for some people later at night.

Fantastic experience: Thankful for Michael who signed me up today. I had a terrible experience with the Live Oak location when I scheduled an appointment and the sales person Billy didn't bother to show up, no call or anything. I almost gave up but drove to this location and was treated very nicely and with respect. I wish this location was closer to where I live. It is smaller and much more friendly. Michael was great and knowledgeable. I would recommend him anytime.

Fantastic experience: I was extremely hesitant signing up to a gym subscription and wanted to make sure I'd get my money's worth because of my schedule, making it tough to take full advantage of daily classes and other perks. Mariah was very nice and explained their membership very well. She took the time to listen to my situations and really made me feel welcome. I signed up with Jason and he was extremely helpful, informative, and considerate! He went above and beyond to help us with anything we needed and still does! Jamal set me up with their 3D Fitness Profile and let me tell you: I didn't want to look at that at first, but it was so detailed and insightful that I ended up sooo happy that I did. He seriously knows his stuff! I never felt uncomfortable talking to anyone at this gym and never felt like I was asking too many questions. I have been very happy with this place and people working here that I brought a friend as well! One of the managers was there at the time and he also did amazing in making her feel welcome! I have no regrets and seriously look forward to coming in all the time. Do it! Change your life for the better! You wont regret it either!

Fantastic experience: Employees are very nice and helpful. When we play racquetball the courts do need to be mopped more often so the doors are not slippery.

Fantastic experience: I am able to have membership through my HMO which is a blessing. I love to participate in the Classic Silver Sneakers plus Yoga classes. I also enjoy their aqua fitness program which is also challenging and worthwhile.

Fantastic experience: I live less than 5 min away, here every morning. Great amount of weight and machines. The staff is decent I could care less if they say hi or not as long as I can workout I am good.

Fantastic experience: This is my home gym, everyone is super friendly the gym is always so clean (cleanest golds gym I've been to). This is strength training Heaven. Home of 5 squat racks, like 4 leg press, 8 or 10 benches to do dumbbell exercises etc, 4 bench presses, 2 incline, 2 bumper plate lifting set ups (not like most new gyms we don't have the platform but we do have the bumper plates and two barbells ready for you to snatch, do cleans, deadlifts etc) they have so many awesome things and they're getting more equipment. This is such a great gym.

Fantastic experience: Was going to golds in live oak for the longest time but moved to this side of town and starting going to this golds. Let's just say I'm not disappointed at all this golds has everything you need. Small location and not too busy at all.

Fantastic experience: This is a great lifters gym for people who are serious about lifting or novice who want to learn about lifting. Great atmosphere to get a great workout or do cardio. They have a wide range of equipment to use along with a pool and a Jacuzzi.

Fantastic experience: good gold level gym, friendly staff, not the most high tech or prettiest in town but it gets the job done. They got everything you need here and a little bit more. Good free weights area, lot of treadmills, smallish pool, gender shared sauna. I've gone to higher end gyms that don't have as much selection as this place.

Fantastic experience: Well maintained and clean. Friendly staff, sauna is nice and spacious. Not the best looking golds gym but has fantastic equipment. Great gym to build them gains. Definitely will be returning when I go back to San Antonio Texas.
