Greek-lettered membership can provide a sense of community and belonging on campus. Members are drawn to joining a group of people who share similar values and interests and become a network of friends and supporters throughout their college experience. Many fraternities and sororities have a strong alumni network that provides access to valuable connections and opportunities after graduation.

Recruitment

Are you ready to become part of our Greek Community? The first step is getting registered.

In 2023, there will be two ways to join an IFC Chapter at the University of Mississippi:

Formal Recruitment -Coordinated by the IFC Recruitment Team each Fall semester, the week long structured process consists of a series of events called Rounds. PNMs start off visiting each chapter and as the week continues will participate in a mutual selection process to narrow down their options. By last round PNMs have the opportunity to receive a bid from up to three chapters.

Formal Recruitment

Open Bidding - When membership invitations are extended outside the formal recruitment process, beginnning the day after Bid Day for two weeks, then opens again the first day of classes in the spring semester for one month. Note, not every fraternity will conduct open bidding.

Open Bidding

All organizations governed by the National Pan-Hellenic Council have different requirements for membership. These organizations are permitted to conduct intake based on the chapter’s schedule and/ or their need for expansion. Some organizations conduct intake each semester; others do so only once a year. When organizations are looking to conduct Membership Intake, many of them will host an informational meeting in which the criteria for membershipareexplained.

NPHC Intake

The College Panhellenic Council and the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life facilitate the logistics of recruitment. We plan convocation, work with the chapters to set event times, facilitate selection on Campus Director, plan Bid Day, and more!
