The genius part of this recipe is that 7 layer taco dip is that it is extremely easy to make and only takes about 5 minutes to throw together! We’ve always found this to be a party favorite, although it makes a simple meal at home too.

5 Minute Mexican Layered Dip Recipe

What You Need:

  • 1 can chili (Feel free to use homemade chili, about 1 1/2 cups, you could also use Easy Refried Beans)
  • 1 8-oz bar cream cheese
  • 2 roma tomatoes, diced finely
  • 3/4 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 1/2 cups sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1/4 cup olives, diced

In a small bowl or saucepan, heat the cream cheese and chili until you are able to mix it together without leaving lumps of the cream cheese. Add this mixture as the first/second combined layer on the bottom of your dish. Smooth it out to form an even layer.

Add the layer of shredded lettuce.

Add the layer of diced tomatoes.

Smooth the sour cream over the tomatoes. The easiest way to do this is to drop small dollops of sour cream over your dish and carefully spread them so that they are in asemi-even layer.

Sprinkle the cheese over the top. I used a white cheddar cheese on my 7 Layer Taco Dip but you can use any shredded cheese you have on hand. A nice sharp cheese works well but a pepper jack is also fun!

Finally, add the sliced olives to the top.

You can enjoy this layered taco dip right away after you finish putting it together. You can also stick it in the oven at 350 and get give the cheese a nice melt. (Although if you do plan on warming up your taco dip, you might want to add the lettuce last after it’s heated to prevent that wilted lettuce taste.)

Variations

  • Add a spicy chili or refried bean to give it a kick.
  • Use a different kind of cheese, such as pepper jack.
  • Add some Taco Seasoning to give it a little extra kick.
  • Add a layer of guacamole.

  • Add shredded chicken to make it more of a meal.

Instructions
